In case anyone is wondering, these are sz 9 per zman. I'm debating how much I really need my toes at this point...

Two polar opposite finds, both going to @IRKSM.

Apologies for the photo quality, was hoping to use a DSLR from work, but had computer issues.

    Rick Owens Vicious Parka SS14

Not true thrift, but underpriced buy/sell:trade. Something like 1.5% of retail. Seriously, who sells this to one of those places for $10-15?!

Norman Hilton 3/2 Navy Hopsack in need of a good pressing from 65 or 67, hard to make out. The construction is incredibly soft.

haha I'm newish to getting suits and don't know the smaller, lesser know quality brands. Just Brioni, Zegna, Kiton, and a couple others. Couldn't find any on ebay either besides one jacket for 80 made by them. Thought that it said made in italy it might be something decent.

$69.99 seems pretty high for AE to resell. For me, I try to triple my investment at the MINIMUM. If they are for yourself, that a great find! If for resale, you can makes decent money, but it's quite a bit to recoup. Hey @leftofthedial does that Hilton blazer say 59L? Does it really measure that large?

In my rush to post the TF and LP ties last night I did not look close enough at the others I had picked up. One more special.

Only a few pickups yesterday...hit an estate sale that had a bunch of bespoke Edgar Pomeroy suits, but they were over-priced and would be for flipping but not many folks know of old Ed. They also had tons of kids clothes - all PRL and Lily Pulitzer etc - and half the kids clothes were monogrammed...wtf...

One thing from the estate sale - vintage dressing robe / smoking jacket / whatever.

    Couple sweaters from the thrift.

...then I noticed the LP cotton sweater I picked up last week has a faded area across the middle - argh. Wonder if i can dye it...

...if you hit the lotto, how much more time would you spend actual thrifting and hanging out here.?

If i were to win the lotto, i think I'll quit doing real thrifting and hit up consignment and resell stores all day for racks of grails instead of grinding for 2 to 3 items in each store.

What the hell is this. Weighs about 30lbs, it's a natural stone and the roses are real copper. Google gives me nothing. Probably about 15" x 8".

Even if I win the lottery, I'll be digging in thrift stores, dingy basements and barns until I die. I just won't worry so much about spending that extra dollar or three. :)

For me, most of the fun is in the hunt. The rest is in the provenance. Where it came from, what it was priced at, who had it before you, etc. It's one thing to find a Loro Piana cashmere vest for $200 at a consignment shop but it's more fun to find one in a Goodwill for $6.99 with a crazy flipper guy barreling down at you from the other end of the rack.
