They don't stretch THAT much. Maybe a half a size, a full size is really pushing it.

RRL isn't meant to fit suck tight. Personally I buy whatever fits me in the store and looks good. If it stretches a bit nobody notices but me, and I don't look like a fool wearing ass-tight muffin top jeans :D

16.5 to 18 is 3 inches of stretch, seems like a lot to me (though no different from other denim brands). If 16.5 fit perfectly, 18 would be falling off.

the thigh should stretch the most about an inch or a tad more than an inch , according to both of my low straight and slim fit.

For the thigh are you saying it stretched 1" when measured laying flat? so that would mean 2" in circumference?

I saw it in person. Felt it too and surprisingly, it felt like corduroy. Nothing about it made me want to drop $1200+. Nothing about it now makes me want to depart with $719.99+. Maybe if it was in the $300 range I'd consider it. I didn't bother trying it on though... maybe I should have.

Just in case it turns up again, I saw it at Barney's earlier this month, and I'd say that the S fits a slim 38, while the M fits a slim M. The cut is not dissimilar to a Levi's Type 3 jacket, but so much more luxurious. The details are really nice too. My favorite is that the buttons are not sewn on, but tied on with leather straps. A little bit of handiwork that just puts it above the competition.

Sorry - maybe I was being too harsh. You should try to check it out. You know what they say, one man's meat is another man's poison.
