Visited Peterson's shop in Dublin. Nice place, very reasonable pipe prices.

It's getting to be that time of year for me again. This weekend we're driving up north to some serious mountains and staying at the vacation home of some friends. I plan to bring a nice Peterson and a Savinelli, both bents, plus a tin of Drew Estate "7th Avenue Blonde" (tried it already, vanilla and apricot notes) and a tin of Dunhill I have yet to try, Early Morning blend.

Sounds like a nice trip how did the selection work out for you?

I need to dust off the pipe I still suspect my problems with smoke flavour are due to packing problems which is why I've been sticking to cigars all summer. This cold crisp weather screams for a pipe though.

Had a few bowls up there while sitting outside by the fire. It was excellent and everyone enjoyed the scent of the Drew Estate. I'm looking forward to the long weekend coming up and having a few bowls outside.

You guys are seriously tempting me to add yet another vice to my quiver. My father in law actually makes pipes for a living in his shop in Sacramento, and every time I see one of his latest creations, I get tempted to see what the, well, lack of hype over pipe smoking is about, lol..

Seeing this thread pop up goaded me to order my tobacco supply for the winter. A tin of Drew Estate 7th Ave Blonde and a tin of Davidoff Red Blend. Both mild, easy to keep light, with vanilla notes. I shall be outside and relaxing with a bowl very soon. :)

As a cigar smoker, my guess it that you will enjoy Latakia heavy english blends. Speaking for myself (I don't really enjoy mild cigars), those are the only pipe tobaccos that I get much flavor out of.

I'm usually not a fan of bamboo, but it's cool how on the bottom the briar has been grooved out to blend seamlessly with the bamboo.
