Gj, something I'd want too. It's just perfect... and a small piece of silver makes it even better.

I'll never understand why people beast over visvim so much. Don't feel there's anything too special about the stuff they put out.

I don't know either but it might just be I don't see enough fits with the brand, it's hard I think to really get behind a brand with high retail prices when you don't see enough of their work outside of lookbook/runway/editorials.

m.a+ pieces are so organic, they've been engineered to grow on Italian field maple trees. This often leads to the somewhat wonky sizing issues.

The only thing solid about visvim is that you need solid gold to pay for it

Some of the stuff is overpriced but generally speaking you get what you pay for. If you've owned a piece of their footwear or clothing or know about the construction process behind some of their pieces the prices don't seem all that unreasonable. I think Hiroki is a masochist, most of the labor that goes into his products is borderline ridiculous. My personal opinion is that no footwear has to be a hand stitched welt, but Hiroki is a huge proponent of the handsewn footwear. Its hard on the hands (little to no factories offer this technique), very time consuming, and many would argue it probably has little to no tangible benefits. People criticize visvim for moving some footwear production to China, but bottom line is very few other countries are willing to do it, and at a reasonable price which reflects the attainable retail value (not easily accessible, but attainable). Additionally, the dying techniques and sourcing the brand does is insane. We're talking about pieces with leather sourced in italy, tanned in germany, then shipped to japan to be hand-dyed, then shipped to another part in japan to be sewn together, etc. I don't want to get too far into the details, but the brand does their homework. That being said, some of the more common pieces dont have the same level of detail they used to (fbt, 101, etc) and are a little over priced nowadays.

I don't think there talking about the quality/construction more so design is what I think they're wondering about.

Design is subjective but most of their pieces are based on vintage finds and remade with tech fabrics or special distressing, not groundbreaking but some tastefully done

But c'mon... Take a look through the F/W 2013 line up and tell me there aren't some beautiful pieces in there:

I think it's that they make a lot of simple stuff that cost just as much as a lot main show pieces from a lot of designers. That knit is pretty dope and could fit pretty much anywhere. But something like that peace jacket is pretty subjective like people said and you could probably find something similar design wise at a vintage military surplus store or vintage store for much less.

They're the more "wearable" pieces... and also at less than half of US retail.
