Moar Bontonis is the only solution. This is on their newest last and off the bay it's incredibly comfortable and great for a casual boot

I've never seen a loafer like that before - one with a tied lace. What a great alternative to tassel. I wonder if they are functional (if you tie them, to they tighten the vamp or are they just ornamental?) Now that I've seen it, it's such an obvious thing to do I can't believe I haven't seen it before. I'm smitten!

It can tighten the vamp some...but it is mostly decoration...and the leather tie runs all along the back and side of the shoe...similar to a classic tassle loafer. You also have to be careful not to pull the leather tie too hard as it is leather and can snap.

This is a very Italian style...the likes of which can be seen in some of the other well respected Italian shoemakers on this forum such as Riccardo Bestetti.

They truly are beautiful....and the model to the right is one I hope to add to my closet soon...

That right loafer is amazing! I want to get a tassel loafer with the same side stitching and vamp stitching

Razl, Carmina and Crockett&Jones also make tie loafers but Bontoni's are far more beautiful.

    Thanks!

Agreed. They really strike me as the perfect Italian "cool" without being over the top. Funny how such a simple change can make such a difference.

    Ditto!

Hmph, my only defense then for not being aware of those is that they must not be as eye catching as the Bontoni's. Because for these, I stopped dead in my tracks. Theirs, I must have just skimmed on by...

I know places in the US such as Wilkes Bashford (CA), Marios (WA), Stanley Korshak (TX), Bergdorf Goodman (NY).

I think in Hong Kong theres a store called Tassels that sell Bontoni. Look through this thread theres a ton of different models
