Anyone have any beer recommendations for Paris? I mean, I know it's not a beer town, but I'd like to see what it pulls in. Also, any other recommendations for eating / drinking there would be great.

And a couple of recent beers:

Dolores River, super tiny brewery -- all the labels are stickers, hand colored and marked. It was ok.[IMG]

The newest Ommegang / GoT beer; a surprisingly solid dubbel, not that gimmicky at all:

And some beers from Oregon tonight. A solid offering from Ninkasi that works well with the cold weather:

And Oakshire's IPA, which starts out surprisingly well but then peters out a bit:

There's a fun little walk through Eugene, Oregon that starts out at a izakaya place, swings through Ninkasi, and visits Hop Valley before ending at Oakshire.

Ireland is pretty big, where are you going! Good information on where to start regarding beer here:
    http://www.beoir.org

Most of the distilleries offer guided tours and tasting sessions.

It's been a long ass time since I posted here but here are a few highlights from the past few days.

Added the 2014 Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Surly Darkness to my collection.

Enjoyed this 5 Rabbit/Cigar City collab. A robust imperial porter brewed with plantains.

And really enjoyed this Pump[KY]n Bourbon Barrel aged imperial pumpkin porter from Avery.
This one clocks in at 17.22%!!! But it's extremely balanced.

We should get that going soon again. @Indesertum put it together last time. If he's not willing, I can. (Granted he gives me some pointers)

One of the most interesting beers I've ever had. Don't really know how to describe it. [IMG]

Good to know. I've got one in my fridge that I haven't opened yet...hesitated on buying more because they were kind of expensive and the last GoT release wasn't all that special.

let's do it. i don't mind doing it but i think it would be great if other people got a chance doing it too.

i think it'd be somewhat easy to write a program so that people don't get or give a box to the same person as last year and it would take geography into account

i found the excel sheet from last year

I'd be happy to help. Although I'd have no idea how to write a program like that. If you want I could make the thread/accept the PM's then I could send you the list and you could help with the picking?

Another recently enjoyed brew. As You Wish... from Chicago's Pipeworks Brewing...is an Elijah Craig Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Porter.
This one is huge in rich dark roasted malty goodness with just the perfect touch of boozy oak and vanilla flavors. Batch number 324-325 11% ABV
