thanks for the replies, sinnedk, abraxis and j j!

abraxis, i was really asking about the quality of the MA leather shoes/boots though, even though the question was on the heels of my posting about pants. sorry for the confusion.

so sounds like these are not shoddy boots, but not quite as well constructed as GGs and the like.

stitchy, don`t go for the boots. Instead Get some MA lace ups. I`ll wear them vicariously through you... [IMG]

stitches - i'm wearing my MA derby as we speak.

it's one of my favorite derby. calf leather is soft. yet, it is thick and substantial. overall construction is solid. and, i recommend it highly.

Well lemme know if you want to sell your grey SS coat :)

Honestly unless your intending to use the boots in a wood shop or mechanics shop where your going to be banging into things most of these brands are going to be good. I mean I love my Marsell boots and they're basically the same since I bought em from Moo. But both Carpe Diem boots I've had the leather has been thicker and felt much more durable than any other brands I've held. Another brand id recommend that you might like that maybe Brad can help you out more with is KKA work boot for fall and you could always email Holger for the IS boots he might still have some left and possibly in your size. But here's the KKA workboot on Guidi leather.

oh, i forgot. bert, i did email holger, and he was awesome. he only has the kangaroo leather left in my size, and im unsure about that. also, the toe on those IS boots its a bit bulbous for me from a birdseye view. just no quite what i want right now. although i really do love them in every other way.

but im heavy on the hunt.
