This is my experience as well. I have suede in both the LWB and LHS in the same size. Fit is not even close.

Those pictures are amazing. Love the life in those. If someone did that tan ct again I'd buy it tomorrow. I wish there were more smooth calf offerings besides CXL. I'm also just bitter about not getting on the tan cc boot at BM.

I think you might be surprised at an ultra light merino wool sock. It wicks and keeps cool. Cotton holds more moisture and is hotter in my experience.

I wear smartwool exclusively and find that they do great in the washing machine but there are "rules"... Cold Wash on a gentle cycle and NEVER put them in the dryer. Air dry only. Good luck

I LOVE smartwool socks. Not for their look, though that is fine, but for their functionality and durability.

My feet survived a few years worth of Mongolian winter (wearing exclusively dress shoes (never boots) and walking a minimum of 5 miles a day) almost exclusively because of smartwool socks (as well as their thermals which I also love). I only had 4 pair of them and they all lasted me my entire time in Mongolia. My shoes had holes all over them by the end (they didn't have shoes in my size in Mongolia) but those socks kept my feet warm.

    Corgi and Alden today.

I like Corgi socks for some fun patterns, Pantherella wools and cottons are great for staple looks and Chups for a heavier sock. The key for all three brands is the hand linked toes. Anonymous Ism is nice but for only a small extra Chups are that much better. I wash all my socks inside out, cold water gentle cycle and air dry cycle in the dryer or hang to dry.
