Sharing a story with a point that is other than what may appear obvious in the beginning. I think Don posted these on Monday and as @alcibiades said, they were as nice as any Alden blucher I've ever seen. I thought about reaching out to AoM and decided it would be a waste of time. Fast forward to this morning and the email I got indicating that one of their stock models that I had expressed an interest in was in stock and they wanted to know if I was interested. I respectfully declined and jokingly indicated that I'd take one of those cigar shortwings. It was completely written in jest but I understand that context is tough with email. I got a response in less than 5 minutes and the first sentence read - you may have just hit the lotto. Apparently someone changed their mind and he was just about to put the pair on the floor. Shoes are being shipped to me today. I got my whiskey PTB's from AoDC under similar circumstances. As someone who doesn't have the retail connections as others, I've found that getting rare shells is often a matter of luck. I also believe that you can make your own luck with extra effort. The point of the story is never to assume and always be willing to make a call or send an email if you see a shoe you really like. The extra effort can pay off. Shameless plug - the whiskeys from AoDC are an 8.5D and have less than 5 wears and will going to B&S this weekend. Anyone with interest before then can send me a PM.

agreed but if they were an 8.5 and not a 9 (could be either based on his other sizing) then @tifosi is going to be crying himself to sleep tonight

    Which leather?

Leffot does a color 8 shell dover with antique. Fran's Boone, Leffot and Unionmade do a Snuff dover with antique. Lost and Found does a Brown calf dover with antique. Supply and Advise does a Navy, Snuff and tan dover with antique. Just to name a few. The factory stores usually carry a dover with antique in some leather...The list goes on.

Leffot has a 10.5 D left. But like rydan said its not a stock shoe and goes fast.

Scratch that. They Had a 10.5 D left. Appears to be gone. Did you snag it @JezeC?

Superb Zip! Love the Whiskey. WW is a fun tradition.
Two great and unique Indys. Looking great bud!
Shawn, a little bit of luck goes a long ways. I have gotten very lucky many times, but reaching out is the only way to get lucky.
Think it will look very close to this but with a flat welt. Edges may be a little lighter.

LOL @rydenfan I'm hoping since his whiskey PTB are 8.5 that I'm safe.

Sazon do you find that the earth reverse chamois breathes any better or worse than suede?

I don’t find that one necessarily breathes better than the other.

I will say though that the reverse chamois is a thicker leather and has a very pronounced smell that hits you throughout the day (in a good way)…and it reminds you that you have some dope Indys on!

What good are Aldens if you can't experience all 5 senses with them?
