    Funny, I have the same Filson bag and pack mine the exact same way with my Aldens, toiletries, and clothes. I guess I'm doing it right!

    It was fun. I will usually take any excuse to sneak away from paperwork to do just about anything else, especially when it involves playing with my shoes...

    Hmmm that's a tough one to answer outright, I have favorites for each of the "regions". There is a long list that I would like to try before buying blind so I feel like it's a very fluid list but...

    My top three that are currently open in my cabinet right now are...

    The Balvenie Portwood 21
    Lagavulin 16
    Aberlour A'bunadh

    [IMG] you see when the space-time continuum is properly taken into account, along with the intrinsic viscosity of the ambient air, you can fit a weekend's worth of clothing into this duffle. [IMG]

    This proves I really do have too much time on my hands right now, back to my corner to obsess over watches.

    I clearly need to up my weekender game. It's t-shirts, shorts and flip-flops/sneakers for any weekend trip.

    I really like these less shined - wow ...never have been much of a whisky(shoe color) fan but these look terrific..are they as matte appearing in person?

    Yes. They have more of a soft glow than the high shine of Alden's acrylic finish. I had done similar with my color 8 dovers and used acetone, which worked well, but on these I think it was a bit too harsh. I was pretty worried about the patchiness after the acetone. I think next time I'll start with something more gentle like naphtha.

    @gsgleason

    Saphir Renomat is designed specifically for these kinds of projects and is gentle on the leather as well.

    I use the M Travel as well for non flying travel. It's a great 1-2 day bag but I hate how it flips over when packed full and carried over the shoulder.
