Love these. Where did you get them? I know Leffot does Tremont last Aldens, but do not know about anyone else.

    fantastic whiskey wednesday showing gentlemen.
whiskey looks great in every combination.
i found tan and brown suede belts at nordstroms rack. around $30 a piece. i am now looking for an inexpensive blue suede belt. it did take several trips to find the belts, they don't always have what you're looking for at the rack.

I went 8.5E on the Aberdeen but don't find that it fits especially well for me. It tapers too quickly at the toe. 9D was too narrow and 9E too wide. I think Aberdeen is one of those lasts that won't necessarily work for everyone.

Just got myself tobacco suede but I think tan suede will be perfect for you. Farnese "tubo" belts is your answer :)

NMWA has EURO20 promotion going for 20% off.

    Gentlemen,

    Such excellent showings today.

I am so thrilled to be a part of this great thread!

Lots of; "Vocational Drama" happening in life right now and wearing Alden's and enjoying them with you all is such a release.

    Thanks.

By the way, incredible non shell showings today as well.

    Hello Gentlemen,

I come to you looking for some advice on correcting the toe of my boots. A couple weeks ago I put a gouge into the toe of my shell boot. I cleaned the boot, went to work with my deer bone and eliminated the gouge for the most part. A couple days later I wore the boots, cleaned them again, and when I was shining with my cotton cloth I noticed the shine wasn't even. I worked on it for a little while, but when I got the leather wet it became almost tacky and flat with no shine to it at all. I brushed a bit but the shine is still inconsistent and part of my boot is now a matte/rough texture and appearance. Pics below, anyone experience this before? Any ideas how to fix it?

    Cheers,

    Derek

    This is correct.

Moccasin construction will not have any cork. There isn't an where to put it. Contrary to popular belief, the main purpose of cork is to fill the void under the insole due to the gemming construction in Goodyear-welting which is a byproduct of the construction method, not for comfort. The comfort slogan came along later as a sales tactic.

Does the commando sole add height, or is part of the original leather sole just 'replaced'?

It doesn't replace the leather sole, but Alden's commando is the lowest profile of almost any maker out there. And I believe on B Nelson offers the true Alden commando soles if you ever want work done.
