leather soul hawaii had the indys in cigar shell cordovan that retailed for 650. leffot has them for 675 so wondering if there is a difference or is leffot just pricing them higher?

What's retail $ going to be for these three new Indys?

If I have to take a guess...450ish? You can email them, and ask.

Leather Soul ones have a double leather sole.
Leffot ones have a commando sole.

The double leather sole is a flat dress sole - the same one that they use on the Alden Longwings.

The Commando sole is a combination leather & rubber sole with tread on the bottom.

Both of them have their advantages. The double leather sole can be more easily dressed up. The Commando sole is better in rain or snow, and look more casual.

Double leather sole is just a regular leather sole, only thicker.
It's thick and clunky and takes quite a while to break in.

Commando sole is a leather sole but with a treaded sole too.
Commando sole is more casual looking but you don't kill yourself in the wet.
Most Alden of Carmel shoes are commando.

There's also the flex welt sole. It's a oil treated leather sole which is fairly thin. Its advantage is that it's quite comfortable. Plus it looks good.
    See the unlined chukkas.

im thinking of investing in the whiskey indys but cant decide if i want it with a commando sole or if it looks better with the double soul like leathersoulhawaii

dont you guys think whiskey (since the color makes it seem dressier) would look weird with commando sole?

Those Whiskey Indys from LS are sold out.
And to answer your question, definitely go with the double leather sole.

yeah i know its sold out and there is no plan of restocking anytime soon. I was asking because Leffot is doing an order of whiskey indys but they have commando soles. to me it just seems odd looking in my head [IMG]

Hey randomkoreandude, did you mean the Cigar Indy re-order at Leffot? I dunno, I'm kinda digging the commando sole. I've got a pair of Ultimate Indy's and they are friggin sweet!

I image searched for cigar shell boots and just looking at the wear and tear people put it through, I feel like the commando sole would suit it just fine. Unless of course you're looking to treat it more as a dress boot...

For what it's worth, I got in on the cigar indy/commando order. I'll post pics when I get them in a few months....really excited about them.

Nice pics of the Alden x Context Roy boot after 30 days of wear. This dude is beating them in nicely.

amazing, in only a short time the leather evolved into a nice 'vintage' patina color/shape
