12 year old BB #8. 50% off sale, so probably came in around $250 new!

Seeing the color of this leather in real life convinced me to nab the Epaulet Alt Wein version pre-order this morning. They look awesome.

These look great. I have the 990s and think the black may be redundant.

Thought I'd share my Alden customer service story. Back in mid-January I posted here about some issues I was having where the inseam was showing on the left boot of my 4060HCs from Alden of DC. The boots were a couple of years old and I emailed Alden about the issue. They told me to ship them back for inspection and about five weeks later I received the repaired boots.

I haven't tried them on yet but it looks like the shell might have been touched up/polished in places and the commando sole and heels replaced. I also now have another 4060HC box :) I'm quite pleased so far with how it turned out at no cost other than shipping them to Alden. Also thanks to @MoneyWellSpent for his feedback to my original post.

    Here are the before pictures:

Wow lagsun, these look amazing. Kind of related, IMO, when Alden is on their game, they do shell better than anyone at any price. Some shades are close. Color 8 is a slam dunk. Again, IMO. And lately, they have really been on their game. If my memory is accurate, I don't recall seeing one post complaining about quality related to any of the last 4 Alden ravello releases. Wingtips from TSM, Captoes from DC, NST from TSM, longwings from AoC. Not one single quality complaint that I can recall.

And to bring this back to lagsun's post, I just got these back from a recraft....

Picked them up from a fellow SF'er about a year ago and immediately loved them.......until people started posting pictures of their Halleck's, then my love faded to like. I've had an Aldden recraft before, but never on color 8. These turned out better than anything I ever expected. The depth of the color is so rich. They weren't in terrible shape when I sent them in. If not for the pic's of the Halleck's I probably wouldn't have even sent them back. Here's a couple of 'before' pic's for context

Looking spiffy as always my friend! :)
There is a new run of Ravello LWBs that has been submitted to the factory, but I have not heard any status update as to if it has gone into production or even if the material has been allocated yet. I am getting a pair to make a 10.5B Brassvello LWB.
    See above.
Amazing! I get mine tomorrow!!!!!!!! :-D
    Looks great my friend!
Really glad to hear that you got the service that you deserve. -Mike

    Shawnwc and lagsun,
there are intermittent stories of Alden re-crafts not fitting "right" afterwards.
How's the fit after your re-crafts?

Thanks, I'll have to make a call then. Just talked to her this week about the sale styles and the #8 Joseph. She didn't mention it though.
