If I'm a 9D in my indys, is it safe to assume I'll also be a 9d in the Barrie last?

Which Indy's. Most are on the Trubalance last as referred to, but there are some done on the Plaza last as well. Plaza tends to fit TTS-ish, where as the Trubalance is supposed to be one size larger than TTS (much akin to the Barrie).

Sizing question: I definitely know my size on numerous lasts, but I have a sizing question anyway. I'm an 11E barrie, but I found a pair of shoes that aren't available in an 11E. There is an 11.5D.

Thoughts on sizing up .5 but going down in width?

Of course try them on if you are able. That said, many models will fit similarly when going .5 up in size and down one width. It has worked well for me when I have done it (for me it has typically been with Aberdeen lasted shoes).

these shoes are amazing.
ANOTHER pair of shoes I want, and may never have....

Looking for thoughts on versatility between the recent #8 dover unlined PTB from Leffot and the same shoe in brown CXL....I was lucky enough to pick up the Leffot version (with the lucky Horween stamp!) but haven't worn them yet as I am not quite sure how to fit them into my wardrobe.....they seem like a casual design with a non-casual leather.....thanks!

atl, I would wear the shell dover with jeans, wool trousers, or cotton chinos. I don't think of shell as non-casual leather. I would love a pair in my size. (with the lucky stamp) lucky, enjoy.

Thanks. They're 3000 miles away, so I can't try them on. I may just go for it

Underrated Black Shell PTBs...I love mine!

I try to make my "boring" black shoes have a little life with a Port/Starboard lace configuration. Also works for Christmastime too :)

Yes, this is the size to start with as it will work for most. The Barrie seems to have quite a wide heel, so I'd try your usual width before sizing up. I'm 9D brannock and take 8.5D in both my Indy boots and a pair of Barrie LWBs.

I was initially worried about my Barrie size, but I think it was just an issue with this pair. When folks were getting their Leffot #8 Dovers,it seemed to be the consensus that these were a smaller shoe than the normal PTB. Maybe it's just an issue with the dover pattern.

And yes, I know people see this question all the time, but in 4500+ pages (of mostly pictures) it's easier to just give a real response.

We see so many boots and bluchers here, but shell in a formal pattern is plenty dressy.

That reminds me- I should give Citishoes a ring about their cigar straight tip bals.

If you guys had to choose one black shoe that would be primarily worn with suits and wool pants, would it be:

Alden 9751 (black longwing on Barrie)
Alden 9741 (black balmoral shortwing on Tremont)
Leather Soul Alden black shortwing blucher on Barrie

FWIW, assume the buyer already has a black NST blucher for more casual outfits...

For your stated uses, the 9741 for sure. FWIW, I personally would opt for the captoe bal (perf tip) (either the stock Hampton version or the BB Snap version) or the 2161 (captoe blucher) before any of those. But that's just me ....

All are nice models.
