Crowdsourcing this. I chew through the heels on my Indys like crazy (3-4 months avg). I can't find any cobblers in my (new) area that carry the asymmetrical heel. Can I source these anywhere myself? Anybody have similar experiences?

I finally ran through my heels on my indys two weeks ago. local cobbler didn't stock a direct replacement, but had a set of cats paws. ended up going with those and am happy so far

Best eBay post ever... Check out item number 151164934990.

It's a pair of tassel loafers. It has 6 pictures, 5 of the soles and a shot inside the shoe showing the size.

I guess people don't care what the top of the shoes look like anymore... :)

I'm on a cigar hunt! Does anyone know of any shops with captoe boots or shoes? I'm a 8D in barrie if anyone knows of any sources. I just sold some other shell boots that weren't getting wear so I'm looking for a good replacement.

I know J. Gilbert is placing a cigar Indie pre-order soon, so I could get in on that. I'm looking for something a little more dressy though. Thanks!

Are the Leffot Cooney boots a single leather flex sole like on unlined PTBs?

^ Too bad you aren't 8.5. Are you sure about J Gilbert?
I know -- I've checked out your shoes. You've got some good stuff!

I'm positive about J. Gilbert. I talked to Yenni over the phone about non-#8 stock and she said she's waiting for conformation from Alden for a Cigar Indie run. I ordered a pair of #8 LWB from J. Gilbert and was wondering about other color offerings.

For me they work very well on the biz casual side, probably wouldn't like them with a suit and I'm not too into black with jeans(personal preference) so I can see the argument for lack of versatility. But black shell has a nice glow.

I think they are awesome and would look great with a black, grey or even blue suit. I wear cap toe bluchers with nice suits all the time. I do not generally care for balmorals. Further, I am sure we all here notice what 95% of the rest of the world wears with suits these days. It's appalling. It amazes me to see a guy in a $1000 Brooks Brothers suit with a $75 pair of rubber sole beat up crappy shoes. I see that way more than the faux pas of black Alden cap toe bluchers with a suit.

Do you know the last she is doing the Indys on?

swore I've read the DC shop consistently stocked a captoe boot. I put my hands on a display pair when I was there picking up an order last month or so

That would be perfect! I live in the DC area and can pop over there during lunch. I figured they would be all out of the cigar boots I saw there months back. I'll give them a ring in the morning. Thanks for the heads up.
