I was thinking the same thing. Do you think the difference is in the website? Maybe more people know about Leffot? I'm certain that if this was a Leffot preorder they would have sold out in 30 seconds, no exaggeration.

I don't check epaulet as much as I check Leffot. I also don't get emailed from epaulet like I do Leffot about these things. If it wasn't for the PSA here I would have never known about the new preorder.

First of all there was no email in advance to build interest. Second likely fewer people check SF threads (in the last 3 hours) than get emails from Leffot. Third, 4 simultaneous preorders for 96 units = more supply, even though only 24 units are shell. In short it makes sense. Let's see if the Alt Wiens last another day or two though. Doubt that. Let's not forget that Leffot's recent preorder sellouts in minutes are a recent (2014) phenomenon.

Just did the alt wein pre-order

I think the whole 6-18 months window for delivery is what convinced me. Clearly if I change my mind I know I have no other shot at a pre-order for a year or longer.

If all else fails I can flip it in ebayland as ravello and save on the capital gains tax.

Thanks for the PSA at Leffot sale whomever

I do not believe I would read this thread so often if you you all were not as entertaining as you are - and I really appreciate the PSA's

I take the same size in boots for both lasts. The Barrie boot definitely fits a little more narrow for me, but were perfect after they broke in.

^^ I think Buda was trying to make a sleeker Trubalance by going with a C width. Not necessarily see if they'd fit. For as wide as the Tru is I could see a C width still fitting.

I was thinking about trying the same thing. I preordered 8D but was considering changing to 8.5C or possibly 8C because of how wide Trubalance is. I only have one pair of Indy's currently in Trubalance. Im going to try them on tonight and see just how much give I have in both the front near my toes and the sides.

Those are great, Moosic. You should show what else you got.

The Leffot also seems to be a bit taller or go higher at the ankle? Thanks for the info BK!

    See Ya,

Really happy I got that Leffot naval boot. The antique and all eyelets are clutch. Can't wait.

I agree, it's an awesome boot, specially with all eyelets, and Antique edge. I already have the #8 JCrew, and a #8 NST all eyelet on Aberdeen. Trying to decide if a #8 Naval fits in the rotation?

    See Ya,
    Steve

I'm a C width and can tell you that there is a big difference from the same last in a D width. If the Trubalance are CXL they will stretch a fair amount. For me I am a definite C in both lasts and find they fit similar after break in. Personally I prefer the extra toe room in the Truebalance. Hope that helps

How does the Alt Wien fit compared to a shell LWB on the same last? It looks like it would be a tad bit narrower
