how would you compare to the RL LIndrick?[/quote]

Hard to say for me as I do not own the Lindrick. I do have the Marlow wingtip. I'd simply say that I prefer the comfort and fit of the Barrie last as opposed to C&J's 325 (not a fan of it, but I'll bare it). I believe the Lindrick is on the 325 also but it may fit differently. Most importantly though, that shade of ravello is spectacular... as @Alpina would say, and @sazon frequently unites, "Patina trumps pristine," ALL DAY!! The color and patina of that ravello is the best I've seen pictured here (no offense to all of us here). That's my case and my $0.02! :D

*GASPS* I'm taking my ravello and going home. I'm offended.

I'm using the term loosely. For me, I'm referring to the email ATL posted, which I quoted, as the PSA.

Is there a new one already or are you asking for the old one?

What is the context? I'm getting some natural CXL soon and would prefer to avoid green.

It was a conversation on Instagram. Stevent is obsessed with green and he commented that he may turn them green.

I just called TSM about the Ravello boots. They had my size, but they are built on a leather sole. Non-starter for me for boots. But an FYI, there are sizes still available.

9D irregular list as bad as the 9.5D. 8 pairs total. No shell.

I have to say J Crew has some of the best customer service I've ever seen. I posted about ordering a pair of their new alpine grain cap toes that came with a big area on the quarters of one of the shoes where the grain wasn't stamped. I called, they immediately credited me, overnighted another pair, and whacked off 25%. How awesome is that?! They even said they'd inspect the new pair for defects before it went out.

Well, whomever the inspector was should have their eyes examined. The new pair looked like WAY worse than the original pair. One shoe looked like that wrinkled up CXL PTB that was posted a couple weeks ago, and the other shoe had the grain issue but in a different spot. Thank goodness I hadn't shipped the original pair back yet because they're at least wearable. I could complain to J Crew again, but I'm happy with the discount and am at peace with the grain thing. While I fault J Crew a bit, once again Alden should have never let the one pair out of the factory.

Anyone else order these and receive a pair where the grain pattern wasn't completely pressed into the leather?

^ unfortunately nowadays it seems that defective pairs appear just as frequently as well constructed ones

Yeah, I'm not usually a complainer and go with the Uncle Mac attitude of "They're not Rembrandts," but both pairs I received were sucky.

J Crew has always had an excellent return policy.
