I actually had in hand a whiskey PTB in this exact shade about two years ago. I returned it because I was hoping for a darker shade. I now regret not hanging onto them!

Looking good DonL! I was actually going to wear mine today also, but thought I hadn't given appropriate love to my medallion ctb in recent weeks. Enjoy often and in great health my friend...

Sacafotos - I was thinkning the same thing. I'd take Barrie or TB. I think the leffot walter pre-order may have triggered the thought in my head. I'd like it on Commando with antique...maybe even natural

Guess no one has seen this makeup done. If i couldnt find a cigar with antique, i am warming up to black

    I was thinking like this:

Pretty sure the cobbler himself did that antique edging. Insane work, though I disagree with the choice of raw cord to compliment the shell. I will ask him to replace speed hooks if possible.

You can also try doing the antiquing yourself per the DIY post (see previous pages). Poster did a stellar job.

I may pick up black shell Indy on Barrie and NST color 8 on Barrie and do the antiquing myself. Striking detail.

Been out of the Alden buying game for about a year, and I just checked out shoemart to see what's new. Looks like Alden prices went up $100 on all cordovans. Unbelievable. Couldn't imagine how much the whiskey Indy would go for now (if available). Over $800? Woof.

I may have to consider selling most of my collection (hang on to my five favorite pairs). The rest would probably pay for the whole collection![IMG]

I think there are a handful of people who have liquidated pairs, both new and used, to profit from the high demand and high prices Aldens command.

What a great Alden stock model. Non-use of spoiler intentional so this picture shows again.

Thanks @aldenwear ! With the shortage extended to Black shell, I think my next target will be one of the following...
    Black shell saddle
Black shell NST (color 8 is also in the mix for this one)
    Black Shell medallion ctb
Black Shell chukka on commando (maybe color 8 here also)

Any suggestions?? Additions to the list to consider?

Also, I tried having my local BB SA find a pair of the color 8 (or black shell) shortwing bals on the M-75 last. A couple of days later, the SA called me to inform me that there isn't a single pair in stock in any BB stores across the country and that Alden will no longer make that shoe for BB. (I'm crushed! What size are you? I wouldn't be so sure that they are completely sold out. I know for a fact that Brooks Brothers madison avenue has a bunch of sizes still in stock.

I've called the 800 number before to ask about availability in stores and found that they don't have a very good idea of what is available. (They have told me completely sold out and I've found items at 346 Madison Ave).

Good thing I grabbed two pairs during the last corporate sale. This is my favorite work shoe.

Does anyone know of a stockist who regularly carries a snuff PTB on a double leather or double waterlock sole?
