    Thank you ironclad.
    Thank you rtp.
    I wish.
Thank you. The lacing is a real pain. Takes forever, but I really like the look.
The pants are by epaulet. I love their garments.

RTP - those snuff Dovers look great! Did you go with your Barrie size? I got a pair in my Brannock size (9.5D) and with it being suede, it is difficult to confirm whether I need to go down to 9D (my Barrie size in my 975's). They fit fine once I lace them up, but it seems there is some extra length in the toebox.

Really? I went in last Friday or Thursday and when I asked about shell they said only black and color 8 :( Maybe they thought I wasn't serious? I really hope not. That's exactly my size (7.5D). Ugh.

I can say with confidence that they are on the barrie last. If you have tried any of the unlined dovers/PTBs on barrie, this BB suede PTB fits identically (even though these are fully lined; you wouldn't be able to tell the difference). That said, the unlined version and this BB version maybe a smidge more narrow than the standard barrie lasted shoe (i.e. 990/975), but not enough for me to size differently. If you do go up a half size, I suppose you run into the problem of too much length. Unfortunately BB does not have any wide sizes available. If you like the width of your 9.5D, I would return them and order a pair of 9E from Alden SF or DC. They should have your size in stock. I suppose you can call them to be sure.

    Good luck to you!

Just like most of those who have replied, I wear my shell cordovan in the rain, snow, sleet, slush, ice, and salt and don't treat them with anything like Defender. I do make sure to brush them off thoroughly each evening though. I've had no ill effects from the elements.

FWIW, the suede unlined dovers required me to go up to an E width even though they are Barrie lasted. I was told at the NYC store that they frequently size people up a width from their normal Barrie because the suede is able to be pulled more tightly across the vamp than calf, shell, or even the unlined CXL.

^^ I tried the Mora on last Friday and I couldn't pull the trigger. They look great, though!
