There's no way that isn't a Japanese resole. Holy cow.

You scored the same deal on the Cordovan Captoe or the Natty Captoe?

These look lined while the standard suede dover is unlined
These are on a double waterlock sole while the standard suede dover is in a single flex waterlock sole

Those two changes would make the Frans Boone shoe a much more structured feeling one

That's the same price I paid for the Amoks right when they were discontinuing them. The problem for me was that my pinky toes were protruding out too much and hanging over the edge of the sole. I just sent them back rather than trying to flip them. For $99 they were a terrific bargain and a much cheaper alternative to the Alden unlined chukkas.

You're right, I should have noticed the soles being different but didn't notice the lining. I actually prefer the unlined with the flex sole since it feels much more flexible and lighter as well. I wish Haberdash would have another sale that might end up applying to Aldens. I couldn't believe the prices I paid for the pairs of shoes I was able to pick up at that time through them.

^ I had the same issue with the Amok and returned them a few years ago when I first got them. I've ha the snuff and tan suede unlined chukkas from Alden since then and I've never looked back. The Amok just felt kinda flimsy and cheap compared to the Alden, and the Aldens felt so much better on my foot, I really like the Leydon last.

I bought some very nice 975s off eBay last night. I'm really looking forward to getting the mac touch on them.

I have some unlined LHS in #8 that I'm letting go. They are in need of a restoration and I don't want to wait 8 weeks!

I believe the one pictured here is lined. The sand suede PTB I have is unlined; not sure if yours is unlined also.

Oops, late to the game. My older, broken-down knees prefer the structured, lined, double waterlock soles. My unlined, single flex/waterlocked soles don't get much wear even in the summer.

Then I won't know whether you successfully use this forum to hawk your shooz and how many messages it takes to do so.

Mine are the unlined ones with the single flex sole. I love my unlined brown CXL dovers so much that I picked up the sand suede ones as well. I don't have any knee issues yet so I never thought about the added structure and thicker sole helping with something like that.
