Well, Leather Soul told me that since these flaws are not deemed as defect by Alden (because the boots left the factory?) so if I were to return I would have paid for return shipping, and they would only refund me the cost of the boots but not the cost of 2-day Fedex they used.

Man I like Leather Soul but that is kind of bullshit.

For any threads that are hanging (not necessarily loose stitches though), you can take a cigarette lighter and melt them by quickly touching the flame to them. Sounds scary, yes, but it works and sorta seals the thread.

I learned this from the Alden San Fran salesguys and have done this with a couple of my pairs of Aldens and have been happy with the results. Again, this is only for hanging threads.

Awesome boots Doc. Very classy! +1 on a plaza lasted Ravello boot.

Thank you, Be. Being met with your approval always gives me the sense I'm on the right track fashion-wise.

nephew,
wear your wt boots in good health
I started to wear tassels in my teens
tassels are one of aldens best models
alden's invented tassels in 1947

Thank you for the kind words, Uncle. I'm working on developing the confidence to wear the tassels. It helps knowing just how classic Alden tassels are.

Man I feel you. But to be honest, this is minor when it comes to Alden QC. You got a good pair.

Unless the boots start falling apart that doesn't look like anything to punch someone over. These boots are made by human beings. They will never be 100% perfect.

I have done this many times. Don't be afraid of it. It is perfectly safe, and it's what they do in the factory as well.
