I hate how this happens. I've gotten some pairs of CXL Aldens where the sizing is all over the map. I remember a pair of CXL PTBs I got from Winn Perry fit 1.5 sizes larger than it was sized, and I know others had the same issue so it wasn't a fluke. Speaking of Winn Perry, it appears Jordan is back at it. Wonder if he's going to be carrying Alden?

I did the same thing yesterday.

The 990 looks and feels like a luxury tank for your feet during winter wet weather. I know we all love rare colors, boots, etc, but at $400 lightly used off of eBay these are closing in as my best Alden buy.

I was actually about to ask if one was so inclined, is it possible to change the finish on the edge to natural in the future, or would that require a new sole?

^ MrDV's ravello shortwing boots are probably the one pair that would allow me to retire from this addictive madness. Well done, DV!

Wow! I am not the biggest ravello fan, but these are incredible. If you could, please, you have to give us the standard line of answers: (1) what last are they, (2) where did you find them, and (3) when did you pick them up? Thanks again for sharing these beauties.

F53's faired much better than the epaulet trousers with the salt this morning... off to the dry cleaners!

I actually agree with this. As long as I could keep everything I already have, ha!

Glad to see your wallets starting to arrive! I've not seen mine yet but we went without mail for several days due to the ice storm in Dallas. One of mine is also a Christmas gift. Hopefully they arrive today!

    See Ya,
    Steve

    Thanks Alcibiades.
The lindricks are great boots, I'm excited to have them. I prefer the Aldens. Alden's finish is better. Aldens do not dry like the lindricks. aldens also feel like thicker shell, sturdier somehow, better protected. Aldens shine better w less effort. I also didn't see better craftsmanship or better color matching w lindricks when comparing them to alden.
I really really like the lindricks, but I would sell them if I could buy plaza (or Barrie) cigar sw boots.

Thanks, I bought them from a fellow member. Originally sold by the shoe mart.

There are DIY instructions out there for the brave or you can have some one do it.
It's relatively simple, just sand off old finish, put on new.
Keep in mind the welt will still be dark. If you want that changed out it's more or less the same amount of work as a resole.
