I'm with you. If the shoes were insanely painful from the outset then I would have sent them back. By the end of the day, the shoes started rubbing much less. They hit the same point on my other foot, but they just irritate my left ankle for some reason. If they aren't all better in a few weeks, then I'll consider letting them go. I just don't want to give up after a day.

You and me both. Whenever someone says that they can "Make it work" with heel/tongue pads, insoles, thick socks, ect. it makes me [IMG]

Its a different story if someone buys the correct size and they fit to begin with, but fit even better with a heel/tongue pad or insoles. To keep shoes that are the wrong size to begin with and try to compensate with these measures seems like too much of a nearsighted fix for a pair of shoes that you plan to have for decades. Sometimes, it's just not meant to be, so don't force it. More than likely you'll get a shot at another pair in the right size over the next few decades.

Could someone tell me who regularly stocks Shell chukkas in Cigar or Ravello? ( Yes I know of the current "shortage", but I won't be in a position to buy for a few months anyway)
After watching everything thats come up on this thread, I think I want my first two pairs of aldens to be a Cigar chukka or grant cap toe boots (leaving towards chukka for versatility, and I have 5 pairs of boots and no chukka) and the Jcrew cap toe boot. So now i'm just replenishing my budget and waiting for the next JCrew sale that will include Alden.

Just seems like when some retailers have made mistakes with pricing/discount coupons they find some way to cancel the order. I have no direct experience with need supply, however this is something that happens more often with sale items.

Last time I checked NeedSupply, size 12 403's were not available, so they probably just made a mistake.

Your best bet for ravello chukkas are Alden DC, San Fran, or NYC, The Shoemart, or Sherman Brothers in Philly as a long shot.
