    Steve,

    You may do this already but keep tabs on ebay. I feel like I see larger sizes like 13's and 13.5s pretty frequently. I cant say i recall seeing any 14s though.

    Hey Mediahound, nice pickup! Just curious, I'm pretty sure you have the black shell BB PTB. If you do, isn't it a little redundant to have both? I have the 9901 and love them, but in retrospect I would have gone with the BB. Thought about getting them anyways, but decided to seek out other shells and avoid the redundancy; more bang for my buck.

    I sold my BB PTBs because I needed to go a size smaller so I decided to go Alden this time around.

    2 negatives with the BB version;

    1. Although they look cool, the metal eyelet paint wears off over time revealing the bare metal (brass?). You either have to have them replaced, repainted, or stripped clean.

    2. Re-sale value is not as high as an Alden branded shoe as some potential buyers don't believe they are actually Aldens. This is more minor if you plan on keeping the shoes forever. I believe I read of someone else in this thread who had a buyer claim on eBay who said something like 'You advertised these are Alden but they don't say Alden anywhere on the shoe, you lied.'

    Thanks MrDV! I love your PTB's!

    Thanks RTP! I still love your whiskey bal wingtips! I wish the one's at Alden DC would've worked out for me, but I'm not complaining!!! [IMG]

    Agreed and right back at ya El Argentino! I really like the patina and your choice of laces. Well done!
