Revisiting a topic covered previously: Grant vs. Barrie.
Some people have found that they can wear the same size in both. It seems like the primary difference is a narrower toe box on the Grant last, forcing people to size up or go wider in the same size. Is that about right?

Yep - I need an E width in grant (I wear 9.5E or 10D in Barrie)

It really depends on your foot.  Barrie is about the perfect last for me.  I tried even sizing up on the grant and the toe-box was still too narrow.  No size will fit me.  I suppose I can go wider, but then what's the point, I might as well get that shoe in the barrie.

You should consider E widths in narrower lasts - most shoes in lasts like Grant and Aberdeen basically aren't available in barrie. Some captoe cordovan boots (Alden DC's cigar, Leffot's day trippers) are stocked in grant. Same issue with Aberdeen, basically tassels are on that last.

Can someone PM me with TSM's seconds list for sizes 8D, 8.5D, and 9D? Thanks in advance.

Received 8D and 8.5D from johnnyrich7. Anybody have 9D? Thanks!

Agreed. The 10.5D list was a bit disappointing, save a pair of color 8 LWB.

(There's a pair on the TSM seconds list on the Grant last that's my size in Barrie and I'm trying to decide whether to pull the trigger. With the risk being $18 the shipping and return fees, I should probably just do it ...)

I can't wear the same size.

Barrie - 9D
Grant - 9.5D

When I first tried a Grant lasted shoe on in 9D, it was very tight. The 9.5D ended up working well. All in all the Grant is a nice last, IMO.
