Would color #8 longwings work well in both casual and more formal environments?  I work for an IT company, so it isn't suit and tie every day, but I was wondering if they would work for the rare cases I got to wear a suit at weddings, interviews, etc.  I'd rather avoid black shoes, since I feel like they're more limited.

If you will only be buying one LWB, then yes, color 8 is your best option, IMO. At some point I would suggest that life will demand that you own at least one pair of black dress shoes, e.g., funerals.

If you buy just one pair of Aldens, it should be the #8 LWB. This, of course, will never happen, as Aldens are just like Lays potato chips: you can't have just one.
