Requoting a post I dug up while Google imaging Cigar Longwings... just incredible.
Day Trippers are my dream Aldens of Aldens, and these just topped them. Except getting my hands on a pair of Day Trippers is probably more feasible than Whiskey shell cap toe boots.

I am not sure if it is useful for you guys, my personal experience
Barrie last - 6.5D (LWB, tanker boot, cap toe boot)
Van last - 6E / 6.5E, where 6E has less heel slippage (alden LHS)
Leydon last - 6.5E / 7E, where 6.5E is a little bit more snug and I prefer it (unline suede chukka)
    All of them feels snug.

Tassels in HK only stocks E width of Van and Leydon last. They said most people in HK (Chinese) could not wear D width in these lasts.
So with these narrow lasts, I would recommend try the shoes on as far as practicable.

I think the only rare shell color that NRO currently has is the Cigar LHS

I just get the eye roll at this point. It kinda sucks when I get new shoes, and I excitedly try to explain why they are so cool to her...I get the look up from the iPad for about a second, and then she looks back down as soon as I turn my attention to point something out on the shoe. By the time I finish my shpeel, she'd been ignoring me for a good 5 minutes. :D

Looks good G, though how you wear boots in Hotlanta is beyond me! My buddy is going down there with his kid this weekend for the Smoltz baseball tournament, he showed me the forcast, I nearly died...

That's your problem right there! You gotta keep your gibbering about shoes brief.

    Me: "See my new shooz."
Wife gives brief glance, then "Don't you already have a pair of those?"
    Me: "No, they're different."
Wife: Shakes head, loses interest and walks away.

To those of you who have messaged me regarding anything Alden, I apologize for the delay. I lost access to my account for the past couple weeks, for some reason, but have since messaged you all back.

Gnatty, are those the plain toe modified boots from last year? If so, the nat cxl is aging beautifully.

Re: explaining new shoes to wives, that is way too funny, hahaha. I'm sure those exchanges hit close to home for all of us. I was just talking to my wife about it, and she told me I don't do a good enough job explaining the difference between a pair of shoes I already have and the new pair. She doesn't know much about men's shoes, so I guess they all look kinda the same to her. Next time I get a new pair, I'm gonna do a live side-by-side comparison with a similar pair and run through all the differences in great detail :p

Funny. I've received a comment in the recent past somewhat similar to the bolded portion. I was showing my daughter two Alden color 8 models - one a captoe blucher (not new); one a captoe balmoral (fairly new) - and was giving her a tutorial on the differences between the two. My wife overhears me, gives things a closer look, and says "those are two different shoes?" :D

lol, I cheated, that picture was earlier this spring. I haven't worn boots in over a month, and even when I am on 2 wheels, wear Vans, not boots..
