I got them from interlocking guy who got it from shoemart seconds list. It's Ravello shell on modified last made for Anatomica in Paris. It's 900 euros there I think?

dude that is a nice looking boot, thanks so much for posting pics.

i actually ended up ordering both the modified and trubalance natural CXL PT boots from shoemart yesterday, once they arrive i'm going to try on both and see which one fits my foot better and return the loser. based on your pics, i'm really hoping the modified boot wins in the fit department. most trubalance boots i've seen seem too bulky to wear to work, but your pics look to perfectly strike the balance between work and casual. nice lookin boots. i'm guessing you're happy with them and with the modified last?

EDIT: i seriously can't understand why people say the modified last looks weird. looks great to my eyes.

Mac's are machine stitched, which are rarer (they have stopped doing machine stitched cordovan moc toe patterns on cordovan Indys). Alden still does machine stitching on cordovan tassel loafers

agreed man. I think the modified last, especially on a boot, looks gorgeous.

I've been lusting for a pair of color 8 wingtip boots for quite some time now, and I contacted J. Gilbert about special ordering a pair (I'm a B width, so no one carries any). They said they would contact me around the beginning of summer for special ordering for their fall run, I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it. Is anyone else special ordering with them?

Ravello Shell, from, my guess, Shoemart seconds list.

This is a makeup for Anatomica in Paris, which specializes in the Modified Last. Please see my signature and sign the petition.

Saphir Pate de Luxe Wax Shoe Polish 100 ml

Is this the right wax for the Mac Method?

Is it better than the Alden wax, or isn't there much of a difference?

I'm getting ready to use the black "paste wax" that I got from Brooks Brothers on my black Unlined LHS, but am looking to have something on hand for my other colors.

Also, I assume I should apply it with a Horse Hair Dauber Brush? is that correct?

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah love the boot and last, they were my first pair of shell that started the addiction. Pretty sure posters hating on the last don't have a pair or haven't seen one in real life. Studio pics never really look that nice and even pictures in general. Out of the Alden last's I've tried it's probably my favorite for a plain toe or captoe boot as it's sleeker enough. Feel the barrie or trubalance seem too bulky for dressier boots.

I call the hand stiched the Frankenstich and it helps me remember.

Also machine stich does not have to be white. Here is a good article by The Agatine Eyelet. He posts here.

I think all new cordovan Indy's will be hand sewn.

Yes, it is a good wax. I think it is better than the Alden wax and smells nice. Someone posted that Alden uses Kiwi. All will work with little difference. Saphir will smell best. I use an old T-Shirt to apply but the brush is best because it will get into creases and brouging. In keeping with the non-shell Friday I wore my Leather Soul Ultimate Indy's for the rain today: [IMG] [IMG] *** ^^^Click pics to enlarge ^^^ *** Commando sole = All Win. I think the trubalance last differs greatly between shoes, and that can probably be said about all lasts. My CXL Indys are way bulkier looking than my shell Indys. I also just think that boots generally look like shit if they're too skinny and pointy. The only exception is if your body is skinny and pointy as well.
