Thanks. I'd been dragging my feet about signing up for the pre-order while I researched (and researched and researched...) other boot options. But delivery later this week is so much more enticing than May, and I know I want the Roys. Just placed an order.

I found this thread a few months ago and you guys have hooked me. Just purchased my first two pair of Aldens,
These Indys in #8 and a pair of Cigar LHS.

Fantastic images! It's clear photography's a hobby as well.

I am wearing my new all-weather walkers for the first time today (thanks again to SF for making me spend more money pointing out the Franco's sale). I obviously don't have a lot to say yet, but they are as advertized. Seeing them in person I think they will make a very handy casual shoe, but for the amount and type of use they will get (bad weather quasi-beaters and casual weekend wear) I am very happy to have gotten them at less than full price. They are a bit lighter in color than the picture indicates - a touch darker than burnished tan (e.g. on 911's).

There is one odd thing that I hope will go away as they break in and I lace them tighter - the leather squeaks like a vinyl couch where the tongue rubs against the lace flaps.

In any case, since they are a classic model but seemingly not well represented on SF I will try to post periodic updates on how they wear in.

Anyone have any ideas on who stocks similar boot to the LeatherSoul Vanguard boot...looking for cap toe specifically. I would also be interested in buying second hand if someone has a similar boot they might want to sell in 8D (or close size):

    Thanks...JT

as much as the crepe sole was really comfortable and silent, I needed something a bit dressier and how dirty the crepe sole got really bothered me.

That is a beautiful shoe. I am putting my order in for a pair in the next couple weeks. Just wish it did not take a year plus to get them in after the order is placed.

I'm keying in on this shoe as my next purchase as well. Absolutely gorgeous in any image posted on here.

A whole year? I'd only looked on shoemart and it said they were out of stock, but a whole flipping year? Maybe I should just size up .5 to the (in-stock) 12 and deal w/ it...?

sorry to be in no way helpful....but I grabbed a pair of these from LS when they came out and they are by far my favorite boot to wear now. They are very comfortable and look quite sharp around the office.
