I am no expert either, however I know that Bootmaker means that they were made for The Shoe Mart.

May I term the recent shade "Raviskey" that being a combo of Ravello and Whiskey?

Aha, thanks! So this is just a normal cap toe #8 boot, nothing to write home about?

it is special made for TSM. It got some minor differences with a normal cap toe boot. e.g, all eyelet for tsm version and commando sole for D.C version

O.K. I'm off the rare shell ledge for now. I did have an initial shock at hearing about the SF list as I was told differently in person. I would like to add that I've had nothing but good experiences in Alden SF apart from the rare shell misunderstanding. My last was visit was great, picked up a pair of calf Plaza boots and chatted for quite some time. I'm chalking up the rare shell deal to a miscommunication. I'll be back in there this week to give it another try and pick up some chukkas.

Hi, here is a pic of Saddle NST 2016 vs recent shortwing, I hope it would help you clarify. Recent shortwing are a little darker than previous Whiskey runs, but those are acceptable for me.

I love the shade of that shortwing, a bit darker but not much.

I hate all the complaining and nit picking going on here! Just be happy you have a pair of whiskey shells I would love to just have one pair. All the shades look great and add character to each pair.

Amen. In the world of Alden shell I feel like the ugly step child. (With apologies to all forum members who are actually ugly stepchildren.) #8 and black are the only colors I can ever hope to own. When I ask about EEE and other colors of shell they just giggle on the other end of the line and ask if I also believe in the tooth fairy.

All this stressing about whiskey. Meanwhile, I picked up Bulleit today at the CAD border for just $17.50 USD. Enjoying it right now and the nice lady at the register didn't even ask me for the secret password.

Seriously folks, just cuz its rare doesn't make it better. Over the years I've learned to love Color 8 and Black so much more. Yes, I own exotics, but the beauty of color 8 is still reigning WBA/WBC/IBF champ in my book.

Full disclosure - I sold all my whiskey shell over the past few years.

^^^ What he said. Talking about whisk(e)y, my favorite aged scotch of all time (priced within the reach of mortals) Old Pulteney 21 tastes better than the hard-to-find rare Yamazaki 18 (priced 3 times higher) or the grossly overpriced Macallan 18 (priced twice as high). Rare is nice, but it's not better.

This is going to sound blasphemous, but I'm liking Alden's burnished tan more and more. It's no substitute for whiskey, but I find it just as wearable. Nothing has that glow like Alden whiskey, but I tend to stain the hell out of any whiskey I wear over a long period of time, which can get annoying. I want to get the tan wingtip boots in EE

That said I wouldn't turn down a pair of the whiskey PTBs or whiskey longwings
