I kind of agree, I would be in on some variation of this:

    Eagle County
Brown or Cappuccino Shell (if that could be an option)
Dainite sole (brown if they can get it, black if not)
    All eyelets in exposed brass
Standard leather insole (I think this would be better for longevity sake compared to the cushion version)
    Chili split welt
    Medium brown transparent edge

Suggestions, thoughts, tweaks to the specs?

    Buz,

You can sign me up for this:

    1)
Eagle County or Promontory in Brown or Cappuccino Shell (if that could be an option)
    Dainite or mini lug
The cushion leather insole from the stock Eagle County (not sure the name)
    Chili split welt
    medium brown transparent edge

I assume Cap Shell is not an option, but I would prefer that, but would be just fine with the Brown Shell... I will point out though, that this is amazingly close to the Alden DC Cigar Cap Toe Boot on the Grant Last...

I am not a big danite fan, but am fine with the Mini-Lug or "Commando" sole.

I quite like the mini lug and have it on my cappuccino Bayfield, I like the Alden commando better because the stitching is below the lugs and seems like would hold up better. I do not have Dainite yet so wanted to try it, but would be happy with either.

I know it's so close to the DC cap toe and unless some other ideas pop up I would have to decide between the two. I am hoping Blaster will jump in with some awesome suggestion that I just have to have haha. Then I could get both. I actually really like the Eagle County in Chili grain that was posted in here, would also be interested in a make up like that but with a double butyl sole.

    Eagle County
    Chili Grain
    All eyelets, in brass
    Double Butyl sole
    Chili split welt
    brown transparent edge
Standard leather insole (wouldn't mind suggestions on something different if something is better)

In on a pair of Eagle County's. I have the original tan ones, but could definitely use a pair in a darker shade (I'm open to pretty much any brown) with a Dainite sole.

Wow the flat welt looks great on the Eagle County, I think I would change that spec on the ones I listed based on the above pic.

Brown Shell Townley would be awesome but I would be afraid my Brown shell Strands would never be worn again haha. They Townley would be much more versatile for me.

As I just posted recently that I am good for boots, I would not be getting....lol who am I kidding...I am in for a boot...def prefer the lighter edge dressing...I would love blue/navy calf..but fine with anything else.

Not much interest in a bal and limited interest in the townly but would probably bite.

This thread is suddenly revived. By the time @watchidiot gets up and logs in, he has hours to catch up and digest with all the suggestions. Little did he know what he got himself into.

I am in for an MTO - though my preference is a navy eagle county with a light colored/natural welt. I don't care about speed hooks or not.

How about a pebble grain captoe, heel and up the eyelets...just to give it a little flair on the boots

I'd do the EC makeup just like tjyoung had it, but would be willing to do it in navy or chili grain and a dainite/mini lug

Townley is same last as Dalton, no? So same size?

How do you size Eagle Country? I'm a 10E in Dalton, but have a better fit in shell versus calf. 10EEE in Park Aves & Strands.
