Which Sunspel color best complements dark blue jeans? Rivera in Navy or black?

Hi I was planning on ordering some sunspel t shirts shortly. On their website it states a 38-39" chest should wear a small, but on Mr. Porter the models with 39" chests are wearing a medium. Can anyone provide insight?

    Thanks

    approx 40" chest
    38R sport coat/suits
very good fit in almost everything in Medium

sunspel t-shirt medium as good as it gets.

I took measurements some time ago:

    Medium:
    P2P: 19"
    Waist: 18"
    Lenght: 27"

if it helps, I have a Hanes Fit-T in Large, which fits similar to Sunpel in Medium... other than that, I'm mostly a Medium...

I have a few. I have 42" shoulders and take a large. I love them but they are pricey. The material is great - breezy and soft without being flimsy. The collar is also really nice and soft, and doesn't shrivel like most polos. Basically a great sport shirt for summer.

I'm 38" and wear a medium. My Sunspel tee measures 20" pit to pit so a small would be skin tight.

Thanks I found this very helpful. Do any of you guys know the difference between a sunspel undershirt and a t shirt? Different material or cut? Thinner cotton?

    Thanks

The Sunspel tops are quite short to begin with and shrink a lot in length. I am 6 3 with a 46 chest and XL is perfect for a couple of months, but then it barely covers the belt in front and will expose the back while seated. My only Sunspel XXL is a Riviera V-neck T-shirt and it is still perfect in length but a bit too wide over the belly. The perfect solution would be to have a one size smaller poor relative to give the tops to after 6 months.

Has anybody found some longer tops from Sunspel?

I only have a V-neck from the underwear collection. It has beautiful deep scoop, but is too wide over the belly, almost A frame. The normal V-necks hardly differ from the O-necks, maximum one inch, but more probably half an inch. Sunspel have a lot of thin fabrics in their normal collection, as well. Look for jersey weave.

The boxers are in great fabric and execution, but here the problem is the inverse, they are a bit too long and will often creep up over the pants if not carefully stretched down before buckling up.

I have one Sunspel merino sweater and it was quite low in quality, especially compared to my Barrie sweaters.

Have one of their 007, L, fits a bit tighter than an ordinary L and is SHORT! So if you are tall - think twice. The weave is nice, but developed some rips within a year of wear.

It looks interesting but, I will stick with my RL custom fit for polo. Been wearing them for years (and I mean years.... since I was 6 years old) and never got any problem with them. I have to say that it kind of sucks that they have moved the production line from the US Virgin Island to Thailand.

I just bought a stock of tees in XXL from the Sunspel summer sale. They are not as nice fitting as in XL, but I hope they will shrink to a close enough fit without becoming too short. Otherwise I will have to hit the gym. ;-) I love the feel of jersey weave.

I like them quite a bit. I like the fit, the style and the cloth they use. Much better than quite a few other polos I've worn in the past.

I got one of the original ones a few years back...wear it somewhat regularly in the warmer months and its still going strong. No issues whatsoever.

Do the Sunspel Riviera Polo ever go on sale? Where is the cheapest I can get these?

The seasonal colours (not black, white or navy) can be bought on sale from the Sunspel webstore. Sales are announced in their email newsletter. They occasionally offer free shipping.

Other retailers might discount the basic colours at the end of the season.

I can get the Navy Riveria Polo delivered for about $125. Is that a good price?

quality has really gone south with these. I have the navy Casino Royale, don't remember when I bought it, but it's been years. great polo, still looks and wears great today. I bought two more Rivieras - supposedly the same thing. very disappointed with the quality - they are thinner, with a looser weave, and made in Turkey now.

I'm considering the purchase of a longsleeve purchase polo, it would be my first longsleeves polo.
I've seen the fitting on some tumblr and it's definitely what I would like.
I'm reading everywhere sunspel is very confortable, I can't wait to throw away my lacoste polo: are like a jail, even the italian fit version, those polo are out of style, I never had lacoste till 1 year ago but it's already enough for me.
Coming back to sunspel the unique thing I'm worring about is the recent quality of their production. As HRoi said, I also read they moved the production to Turkey even if doesn't appear on the label, it mean that they re producing there and putting the buttons in England. It wouldn't be a problem for me if are not produced in England if the quality would be the same, but I saw even some pictures and the new ones look very very cheap, fading after a couple of wash and so on.
By the way, I'd make a test buying some short sleeve polos first seeing now are on sale for 25/30 euros
