Thank you for the confirmation. Much appreciated! Sad to say, but it seems like the seller flaked on me so it looks like I won't be driving around in style anytime soon.

I am not 100% sure about this one (look out for the two dots, this is a feature of a specific brand) BUT look out for Barton Perreira. They have (at least) a very similar one.

The Generic Club Masters fit your face way better than the RBs. Check out those Persols. They have the classic fit of a Wayfarer (which fits you perfect!) combined with the "touch" of Persol.
I have them here and they are very classy!
Yes, you may want to show us those BUT I think they don't really suit your face either. But please show us a picture!

Ajk that particular pair of aviators doesn't fit you right but something that sits lower on the nose would, the shape looks good on you. maybe OP Farrell's or a similar Mosley tribes shape, ill echo the other opinions too. Wayfarers look top notch, oakleys are righton for a running pair , club masters don't work

@Mr. U- I think I'm swayed enough to look into the Persols. I've been scouring the web but I hate to pay full retail knowing that there's got to be places that sell them for some sort of discount but I don't want to screw myself without asking the question of where are a few reputable places to watch for a deal (is there a thread or a reference guide somewhere, if someone could point me in that direction...)? My other thought is, would the Wayfarers and the Persols be sharing the same spot in the wardrobe if I get the Persols in Tortoise? If I go with them in black, at least they would be different enough and allow some diversity. Thanks!

@Mike- Thanks for the input, I appreciate you taking the time to check out the photos and give some honest feedback. I find these types of opinions work much better since people that know a person tend to be a little more reserved, especially if a person shows their enthusiasm for a particular thing- which is not what's really needed. Critical honesty, I like it.

So I guess the Clubmasters are going to go to auction with the Dolces.

You guys think the Caravans won't work (site unseen)? That sucks. I hope I still have time on the Amazon for a return on that ... I'll check out the Msleys and Farrells- never heard of them but I'll keep an open mind...

@hoodyear- thanks for the assist on a place to look. I'l have to keep checking that place since there's no joy right now for the OP Farrells or even Mosley Tribe. I bought the Dolce's from Sunglass Hut and decided that I won't do that again since I probably over paid by $60-$70. Amazon has been ok to me, but there is a bit of a risk there in what one might get... I'll keep surfing around the net for places too.

That's where I ordered some Persols. Legit guy and very nice if you want to order a different colorway or size! I think eBay in general is your spot. Also, I guess there are no fakes around, as of yet, spotting fakes is also pretty easy, the just look and feel cheap.
The clubmasters, in my opionion, represent the holiday-feeling, just imagine a guy with a Hawaiian shirt, I bet he would wear the clubmasters. Where as the Persols can be worn to suits and for daily life. You should get Persols for around $100 to $150.

I hadn't thought about that image with the holiday though, when I think about the image that's really what comes to mind. I guess the unbranded Clubs will work for that purpose if I want that look. So the Persols 2994 - I'll look for them at the $150 and below but right now they are are >$170s. Though Persol has some aviator styles as well. The Mosley's and OPs will be a wait and see for me- the D&Gs turned me off to the >$200 category... It's a lot of money for something that doesn't look right. That's what's got me back to Ray Bans after a 15 year hiatus, decent looks at a price that's more palatable.

Are Persols 714 the same as 2994? My gut tells me they're different but it must be very subtle ...

Ok- So I'm going to go with the 2994 in black but what about this for an Aviator style...http://www.luxoneyes.com/eng/sunglasses/persol.cfm?sunglassid=758330

Try to excuse my simple ignorance (and slight laziness) if there are posts/threads elsewhere warning against this website but this version of an aviator with the matte chrome and tortoise arms (which I like) looks like it has a bit of the Farrell shape in the lenses. The one I would go for is the 57mm since my D&Gs are a 58 or a 60mm (not really sure but they are a lot bigger than anything else that I have).

Or should I abandon the whole aviator look? I realize the OP Farrells have very straight lines across the top and bottom with the curves most noticeable on the sides where as the Persols 2393s are more tear-drop ... I wonder how high the 2393s sit...

Well, I think I found the aviator style at a price that I like ... but I get what I pay for so I'm looking at either the Persol 2407 (in 62mm but fairly straight lines at the top and bottom) in gold or the Persol 2993s (57mm in a more classical teardrop shape yet a little flattened at the bottom of the lenses).

I'm thinking the 2407 at 62mm might be too big if the 52mm wayfarer is the right size for my narrow head. I think it would be the same issue as my D&Gs- which looks like they are too big and they sit high on the nose. If the Persols sit lower on the nose would that compensate for how wide they are in the lens? Not sure if the Persols 2407 sit high, but if they are hanging off the side of my head- that can't be a good look.

Totally different. I do have the 714, the 2994 and the 649 and all 3 of them have different fittings, even though the 649 and the 714 are "almost" the same!
The 2994 is very different to the 649 or 714. It's more flat, more like a Wayfarer as I said! Like an updated version (compare the RB wayfarer to the new wayfarer)

How wide are those Wayfarers you have? 135mm, maybe 140mm? I would suggest you look out for the 2994s at first. They are very popular, any Persol dealer has them.

EDIT/// Just checked the rates for the 2994s. I paid 130 euro, which is $170. So your price is ok!
