    Thank you both. Virginia Dandy is quite correct. They were indeed made for me by Cleverley. I have been very fortunate to have been able to avail myself of the services of the folks at Cleverley for some twenty-five years now.

    Medwards, that is an awesome shoe. You should post pics of you wearing it!

    Is there a difference between suede and "reverse calf?"


    It seems that you can get differing opinions. Essentially, the answer is no, suede and reverse calf are calf leathers that use the flesh side and then are buffed to create slight napping. I'm not sure if all suede comes from the flesh side. Reverse calf does use the flesh side. That would be the only difference. The following gives some insight.

    These are great. Excellent choice! Who's the maker and what's the specific color of the suede? On my monitor it looks almost like a glowing chocolate brown.

    I think they are Martegani, but not sure. The color on my monitor is rust [​IMG]
