    Yep, I'm seeing it..

"Can I pour you a beer Mr. Slim?"
"A little early isn't it, josepidal?"
    "For a beer?"
    "No, for stupid questions."

All the clothing topics have been done to death. The people who are still around spend more time in the General forums than the main forums. We all know each other, know what we wear, like, don't like, etc. Since there is hardly anything left to say about clothes, we talk about other things. It was bound to happen.

Nah, the poorer members of the forum still like chasing after the New York sales and checking out all the new goodies people buy. Living vicariously when a student is A++

I think 2003-2005 were the golden age in terms of sartorial posts when AHarris, Naturlaut, shoefan, jcusey, Manton, AK, bengal, bresch.... were a lot more active. I also enjoyed sysdoc's posts who are on self-imposed exile after the Vass debacle.

In terms of fun, it's gotta be the ernest-Kalra-jmswentworth(and his numerous incarnations) era. Shooman was a moving pile-on target.

I agree this was a very good time.

I wouldn't say one age is better than the others. It's just different. Back in the day, StyleForum was like a local rock band who you saw playing in bars and small clubs. You felt like you were in on a great secret by being a fan. Then the band gets discovered, attracts many more fans, and is now playing sold-out stadiums and arenas. Along the way, the band has become more sophisticated musically and has added many talented musicians. You feel happy for the band, but part of you wishes that you could see it jam in a small club again.

    +1

I think Cliff Claven would have committed suicide after Wikipedia was invented.

The rise of streetwear and Current Events would seem a likely before/after cutoff; not worse, just different.
