I tried this in the quick questions thread, but alas, no response.

I would like some suggestions for new shoes: I would like some good quality, tan-colored derby brogues. Preferably with a Dainite-sole or equal. Quality is more important than low price, but I would like to keep it under $500 (£300) if possible.

Allen Edmonds 'Player' in light sand is one versatile option.

although you may have to hunt around to find it. I am unsure as to whether or not AE stil offers this colour.
The Player was / is made in several colours.

Or a pair of nice dirty bucks should be in order. Many makes to choose from.
As of late, there are a lot more coourful suede shoes on the market so they need not be tan unless that is what you are specifically in need of.

Thank you for your answer! I was thinking more in the lines of these (C&J Pembroke):

I.e tan derby brogues in calf leather. Longwings can also work, although these is maybe a tad bit dark (Meermin calf cuero):

Looking for the best tan brogues to flaunt around in come spring! Other suggestions or inputs are very welcome!

^ Regarding the Player's shoe, it is (or was) also offered in Walnut calf, which may be what the OP is looking for. Looking at the AE website right now, the Player's shoe seems to be on clearance, with only the white and sand suede remaining. I was able to grab some snuff suede by calling the Shoe Bank (they were able to hunt down a pair at a retail location). You might still be able to grab some walnut ones.

I also think a suede shoe in that color is tricky. It is a summer color with a fall/winter material. I am not sure what the "rules" are for wearing them.
