I'm not a huge fan of poplin, though I've never tried one from S&M, but how are the other two in terms of the texture for a daily business shirt? Appropriate or too casual?

Regarding the linen shirts- are they supposed to be slightly stiff/scratchy? Will they soften up with wear and laundering? Ran em through the wash once and hanged to dry, still a bit stiff so just wondering. Thanks!

Linen is made from Flax, which is almost like tree bark. So linen will always have a bit of stiffness/scratchiness to them. These are 40L, which is more on the casual end of the spectrum which use thicker, coarser yarn. Two ways to get soft linen is to use High Li numbers, like 80L, but then the fabric is very thin and almost see through, OR blend it with cotton.

That said, the more you wash it, they will continually soften as the fibres start to get beat around.

Did those cotton/linen blends ever go into production?

Shirts? Do we have a preview of the colors?

BTW, the linens fit me great after a wash. Wore them the last few days and they are awesome.

I'm thinking MTM indigo stripe popover... Want to see fabrics first, I love cotton blends.

Any RTW? Deets on the makeup? Really happy with the cotton-linen plaid dress shirt currently available for purchase, would love to own some more.

Rick-I'm gonna be placing an order for some stuff. I was wondering if there were any size 28 trousers in a solid navy or dark gray wool? I know they were on the site last time I checked but don't see anything now.

    Thanks

Will taking in the side seams help with the ripples at the armpit areas? This is a 42 Contemporary (pardon the dusty mirror and the crappy photo - my phone is on its last legs).

Really difficult to see what you are pointing out. Did you buy this online or in-store?

In store (downtown), but I had it tailored by the tailor there as well. Guess I should go back and talk to him?

Did you notice it when you came in for you fitting when you picked it up? Talk to him, he's quite good. Also ask for Tommy or Jason, both have a good eye.

Nope, wasn't wearing a proper shirt when I tried it on, just managed to do so at home and noticed it, oh well no biggie. Will pop down and see what could be done. Loving the fact that it's a ton closer than the 'Sauga store however haha!

    +1 for convenient downtown store.

Are the new cotton/linen dress shirts coming to the downtown store OTR?

@burgerkong , what suit fabric is that? Just straight navy? It looks nice.

I hope the navy linen/cotton will have a button down collar.
