Why, thank you! These are mine. Back in 2004, I purchased them on eBay: deadstock in their original box. Size 9D, if anyone's wondering. They're vintage 1930s or early '40s. I've not been able to find a trace of information about their maker, the "Chappell Shoe Co." The shoe's closed channel soles are crosshatched; the shoe's interior is lined in white kidskin. Yep, kidskin.

It appears that the leather for both are in great condition as well.

    Thank you!

Here's one more. Again, vintage 1930s. New / old stock. Found these on eBay in 2004 and sold them four years later. I believe that "Bostonian" was the maker.

Nice, but I like the other two just a bit better.

I still find it amazing that the leather on these vintage shoes looks so good. I would think it might have dried out a bit in that period of time.

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't (much). Even so, I conditioned them with Pecard antique leather dressing.

    And what's beautiful is timeless.

Those grey ones in particular are delicious, and I've been drooling over those wingtips too since they were posted the first time. That's a wonderful collection, James.

Super clean; very evocative of the era. Don't know where you find these wonders, Meister, but they are a marvel.

Wow - those are absolutely amazing. You don't see too many cole haan's that were made in chicago in that kind of condition.

Those are beautiful! My understanding is the current reincarnation of nettleton has nothing to do with the previous company and ownership? They look like they have some beautiful shoes in their lineup but not sure they are worth the msrp.
