I did know the Gunners were not having the best season so far, but I would not have guessed they were playing as poorly as their showing in the first thirty minutes of today's match.

Well the good news for Arsenal is that they have gone 23 minutes without allowing a goal....now if only the first 22 had been so kind to them.

    Arsene has to go...

He can go to any club he wants but he is a stubborn bugger...

Amazing that all of Arsenal's remaining drive for the season shatters in less than a week. Bravo, Arsene.

amazing that it happens every year and seemingly without consequence, yes.

that it happened this season was a painfully predictable prolapse.

at least with the chance of not getting 4th there's a tiny possibility of him leaving, the CL qualifier cash bonus lines quite a few pockets on the board so it's a must. i mean he's getting $7m/yr -- highest managerial wage in the league -- for something, right ? anyway, spurs crash and burn will come soon enough, or even if last day of season a la 2005 it will happen. they have only ever finished above arsenal once in the last hundred years or so. nothing else to focus on but getting that 4th spot now.

amazingly malaga had 2 total shots, neither of which were on target. should have watched moutinho and lucho the general boss midfield.

just to keep the rumor mill going ~ higuain and benzema are not really fit (which also explains why you don't see H+B up front). higuain will be sold this summer, contract negotiations fell thru and the renewal clause was not met. benzema is close to the president as so will not be disposed of, at least not so easily. for the best, i suppose, as benzema is much more naturally talented in my opinion.

it's getting to the point that jose may use CR as the #9 and leave those two oafs on the bench versus United next leg.

Dumb as it sounds, my faith in Madrid may be lost if Higuaín heads out. HIguaín is vastly underrated throughout his career and was brought over by the club at 17-18 years old. Viewed him initially as a Raúl-figure (who was also reluctantly let go). I, for one, still appreciate the loyal servant type (Messi, Puyol, Zanetti, Lahm, etc).

IMO, Benzema hasn't proven himself since arriving - he'd be first on my list to leave. I understand the dynamic he brings in comparison to the poacher Higuaín, but he's just been stagnant for too long. Higuaín is valuable, consistently performs for country, and has been frequently goal-getting for Madrid in the past.

It is going to be very strange watching Drogba in the CL playing for someone else.

    Drogba...Legend

Benzema is even criticized in the French team..

He is a great passer of the ball but he is not a box striker...

He just doesn't score enough goals..
