Completely disappointed.....looks like they are going to go cartoon Bond again.....movie was far too drawn out. I really wish they could make another like Casino Royale.

It was great, despite the ****** performance by the two girls, who were awkward and heavy-handed. Otherwise is was classy stuff. Bardem was outstanding. Cinematography is great. The storyline was much more simple than the previous outing.

I'd agree with all of this, though I did like the idea of the previous two movies having organizations to fight and not just one person with a few people helping out during their crime spree.

the whole M thing really surprised me, though Voldemort should make for a good part going forward.

Anyone else (partially) thought of 24 while watching the movie?

What Have They Done to James Bond?
'Skyfall' gives us a kinder, gentler 007. Please, don't shake or stir his beer.

As a literary character in 12 novels by Ian Fleming, Bond first appeared during Winston Churchill's premiership. Now in his sixth silver-screen incarnation, played by Daniel Craig, he still has the capacity to thrill. But while mincing around in Tom Ford suits rather than Savile Row, with three buttons on his cuff rather than a gentleman's four, and drinking Heineken beer instead of martinis? Above all, can he long escape his upper-class background—schooling at Eton and Cambridge, service in the Royal Navy?

James Bond simply cannot wear three-button cuffs, drink Heineken or josh with a hilariously blond-dyed Javier Bardem about his sexually ambiguous past. Come back to us, 007; nobody does it better.

the movie did feature some prominent drinking, but only once was it Heineken. And it was while Bond was relaxing in bed, I hardly see a problem with no-martini here.

I'd maybe agree on the suits.

And above all, he didn't order a Heineken in Macau (like I already wrote but felt the need to point out again).

To be honest, I also found the beginning a little odd. Not sure whether it's written in the books, but even though it's human, Bond doesn't seem like someone who would just try to break up with his past. Or am I off-base in that aspect?

I liked it as a movie, but it just didn't seem like a Bond movie to me. and yes, the suits were ridiculous, although I liked his more casual stuff.

Entirely forgettable. I can suspend disbelief to a degree but there was some serious Michael Bay meets superman **** going on in there. Way over the top and felt more like a movie trying to be a bond movie than an actual bond movie and was bordering on satire at times.

I don't get this criticism. The Craig movies are a reboot of the franchise that are intentionally different from everything that came before. Skyfall was perfectly consistent with what we saw in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
