    1. Bonafe >>>> Alden in every aspect (finishing, handwelted, etc) for relatively the same price.

    2. The model I showed is no longer being produced.

    3. Alden does not do one off MTOs.

Completely agree. I'm just staring at that shot of the black derby, unblinking.

I think they are both - rugged in design and refined in execution. I am loving them more every time I look. If I could remotely justify another brown casual boot I would jump on 'em, because I think they would fit my wide-ish feet very, very well.

@Leaves - stupid question - are these burgundy or brown? I swear they looked one way on my office computer and another way at home.

    Roger,

These are brown but with the twist. Etrusco color is difficult to describe, it is a brown base but it has some reddish undertones. It resembles burnt sienna.
I have some pictures here under natural light

I'm going to change the laces on my etrusco wholecuts to a dark brown. I'm not crazy about the light laces they came with.

Agreed. A guy could get quite far in life with simply that lineup in his closet

Yes, it's a very warm brown hue. Ages nicely too @RogerP.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. Experimenting a bit with lighting and different set ups. It's hard to shoot in the store because of so many different light sources and daylight seeping in. We're not photographers any of us so it's a steep learning curve. Hopefully we can find a nice solution with good quality product pics and still keep a personal touch, I'm not overly fond of light box photos.

    I have a nice solution.

You send the shoes to me (in my size), I take some kick ass real world photos of them and I get to keep the shoes.

Problem solved. Everybody wins. Your welcome.

Absolutely, did you see this style we made up a while back? Removing the toe cap is easy peasy.

You are correct, sir, a Carmina pair. Though mine are two eyelet. Thanks Patrik.

With derby boots from the likes of Vass, EG and St. C in the rotation, let me say that Bonafe boot is nothing short of a staggering value.
