And I feel the same about not getting the green hatch. Bummer that those were near-simultaneous runs.

I am not going to lie to you Roger, the green hatch color is awesome. It is very subtle.

^^^ Based on the pics I have seen I have absolutely no reservations about their awesomeness. And I have become a massive Thorpe fan. Might have to rank it as a tie with the Galway for the King of All Boots.

Speaking of the Thorpe...does CS do a split toe boot? I have a brown grain "field boot" type boot from an AE GMTO (Eagle County) so the current GMTOs haven't interested me much but a burgundy or dark green grain, chocolate suede, or other textured leather split toe boot would probably motivate me to give CS a try.

Those of you who own Carmina as well as CS, what is their biggest difference quality wise?

I don't think Meermin is ever an option if you can afford Carmina but CS is sort of in between [IMG]

Carmina and Carlos Santos are quite similar to each other in quality in my opinion. The main reason why Carlos Santos is less expensive is because they have an open chanel sole stitch and Carmina has a closed one. Carlos Santos actually makes a closed chanel construction too but it would be exactly the same price as Carmina so it doesn't really make any sense for me to stock that. Also, labour costs are lower in Portugal compared to Spain, the CS factory is larger (economies of scale) and they do not offer a MTO program, which makes their production much more lean. Both are very, very good makers and they both deserve to be in your wardrobe. :) Carlos Santos is a lot of bang for the buck, maybe the best quality-price offer available at the moment. I'm biased of course, but it's my opinion.
