This will be seen in hindsight as akin to granting Senator Palpatine "emergency powers."

Just banned any registrations from Bangladesh. Invariably, some spam will still get through, and I am sure that there are "sleepers", but nearly all of the spam from the last week or so has been from there. Matches with the time as well. Well, not too much demand for high end men's clothing from our Bangladeshi audience anyway....

I am going to write a monograph on the globalization of labor and spam.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

So Stitch is finally being punished for all of the controversy he's created over the years?

I noted it in the offending thread, but I really don't have the desire to go all over DT issuing warnings in the various appreciation threads, so I'll mention it here:

The prohibition on nudity still stands. No pink, no brown, no nips. Period.

You have all been reminded. And warned. Warminded, if you will.

MrG is adept at one-handed censorship when it comes to teh DT.

I have a request - without wanting to sound like a wowser, would it please be possible to change thread titles with variations of p-o-r-n in the titles into something different, such as "The XYZ appreciation thread"?

I do like to browse SF at lunchtime while I'm at work and all the pr0n thread titles make me a bit nervous.

Yeah, although the word has become ubiquitous and come to take on the general meaning of "gratuitous indulgence in something." But if you send me the URLs, I'll take a look.

I have had this conversation because of said titles:

"Hah, Claghorn, are you looking at porn?"
"No. I'm looking at shoes. See?"

The expression I received in response suggested that I would have been better off with the first option.

I think such use is fairly restricted to internet culture. I hadn't ever come across it until joining Styleforum. Has it entered into the American vernacular (honest question as I've been away for a while)?

Yeah, it's pretty common. "Food porn" is the most obvious term. You here this in polite company (I don't really keep polite company, but whatever) all the time.

    Cheers,

    Fok.
