That's a very non SF oriented ad.

    You forgot Thomas.

Also, I recently got promoted to "full" mod, so y'all are welcome to come to me about stuff that falls outside of DT, too.

All the mods from Georgia suck. Can you do anything about that?

Do you use NoScript alongside AdBlock? I never ever get popups anywhere. Either way, it's highly recommendable to use NoScript (pretty much the reason why I choose Firefox over Chrome).

NoScript mainly blocks javascript. It's a bit tedious for some people since you have to whitelist every website (that uses JavaScript, or implements flash or w/e) the first time you visit it but once you're set up and used to it, it's not that bad. Plus it extremely increases the safety when browsing the interwebs. Yes, it's more essential for Windows users, but it still doesn't hurt for Mac users.
Chrome has similar AddOns, like NotScripts. Mind you, I haven't researched a lot, but it seems the general "infrastructure" of Chrome doesn't allow for an addon like NoScript to unfold its full potential, so addons like NotScripts (Chrome's equivalent of NoScript) can evidently be bypassed. NoScript, the addon of Firefox, has set up a NotScripts detector ( http://noscript.net/misc/notscripts-detector.html ), which forces a popup message even when you blacklist noscript.net on Chrome's NotScripts. I'm not sure whether this "bypass" can be abused to spread malware, but better safe than sorry, I guess.

We had a recent fact check breach in the NBA thread which was good fodder. That ad looks like an FCM plant to me.

why is SF degrading the quality of my images? I shoot on a DSLR and upload in high quality but my photos end up looking like really shitty compressed JPEGs.

If I had to guess: They want to make the file size as small as possible because they're paying to store it.
