How are socks possible? Aren't IP addresses monitored?

The best sock/spammer that I can remember on this board was the guy who started a thread with a long ass story about how he couldn't get laid, then had some shill recommend some terrible pickup game ebook and then posted a week or so later about how he was banging chicks left and right thanks to the book.

For some reason I enjoy the folks that start a new sock and let it sit for three+ years before activating it. The level of dedications and insanity it demonstrates is impressive.

I'm sure that IPs are monitored. Nonetheless, there are numerous ways to bypass the IP problem.

Has anyone reported problems updating their email address under "Edit Account Details"? Whenever I try, it just hangs on "Please Wait..." and never completes.

I believe this is a recently implemented script to prevent overly eager members from contacting you. It's curiously named "protocol_institches" when you open the source page.

Would have been smart to also delete creeper.xlsx as well, since we're all in his database already.

I'm not only the in stitches Fan Club president, I'm also a client. He already has the email address to which I'm trying to update.

Ya, an anonymizer, VPN or proxy would do it, but why would someone go thru this trouble? Also, multiple sock accounts? Seems a bit deluded.

Not everyone is willing to go to the mat for their cast-iron skillet beliefs, idfnl. Some need the cloak of anonymity. :D

We get socks for all kinds of reasons. Some use proxies; some don't. The most interesting recent case was a HK/Canadian tailoring company that started maybe 30 socks in the past couple years. Eight or nine out of ten posts at least from each sock were a single sentence of advice to a noob. Then they'd have a post or two praising their own work or bashing a competitor's.

Some of these socks had well over a hundred posts, maybe 2-300 going back a few years.

Multiple sock accounts, with a couple hundred total posts in a day, nonetheless. Lot of work for petty revenge.
