I am a total newb so please be gentle with me...

Found this silk scarf online (in the ladies section of the "Tessera Collection")...
    http://www.tesseracollection.com/tcc...in%20Nonpareil

Too effeminate? I think it is a striking pattern, and as a sort of bibliophile the allusion to bookbinding is not inappropriate. I guess I mean to ask, seeing this on a man, would you suppose it had been bought in the ladies section?

    Many thanks [IMG]

I think it is pretty cool. It would take very big balls to carry it off though, but it could be done.[IMG]

They're 'okay'. I didn't think they looked as striking as ties as the scarf did. At that price, I'd consider buying the scarf and cutting it down to use as a pocket square if you really love it. 10.5" wide, it would be a little smaller then average, but would it work? Any thoughts? EDIT TO ADD: The stuff they are selling looks a lot like what is sold through http://www.silksbylucia.com/. The latter appears to be the maker's own website, and if you are looking to get a Pocket square, you might be able to more easily land the right size 'square' you'd need direct from her.

As a general rule I try to avoid shopping in the ladies section. Just a preference.

Thanks for all the help. I will keep thinking about a tie, maybe see if they can make one with the green fabric of the scarf.

The scarf is a bit too girly for me, that is. I suggest that you just stick to neckties if you really do want to look manly. And I also use the same rule that Cant kill da Rooster uses: avoid the ladies section.

Another silk scarf for men. Good for winter.
Silk scarves are elegant and...not only for women!
