    or

both would be slouchy/oversized, to wear with charcoal/black pants, maybe occasionally w/ jeans. or am i being crazy and should avoid both?

    those are pretty nice, A+R?

if you don't have a pair of FW cropped drawstrings, they're definitely a staple and you can't go wrong with 'em...

Yeah, price wise they are pretty similar but afaik all the Ricks are a basic cotton terry right? And the olive colour on the AR's is really nice.

Edit: haha nvm I should have known you'd have hem in stock. I forgot your RO stuff went up a few weeks ago.

I do like the olive, one of my fav shades of green.

Honestly I can't remember what fabric options there were in the showroom for FW16, but we're carrying a wool version [used across pod shorts, cropped drawstrings, and the classic soft blazer this season].

Yeah that wool mesh does look good, there's also the JJVE trousers 30 that I've been considering that are similar to the AR's

Hard to say, I think they would look tacky on me but I also have a friend who would wear them well

I have them in sand suede and like them a lot. The one caveat is that they're not sleek. Think something more along the lines of the Common Projects chelsea workboot (the new ones from this season) than the regular CP chelsea. They're not going to mesh with razor-sharp tailoring or extra-skinny jeans. The toe shape is closer to what you'd see on some Buttero or MMM boots, almost a little western in style.

Speaking of round-toe suede chelseas...Folk chelsea boot?

Also have been eyeing the Common Projects Workboot (doubt they'll fit me well though) and the Epaulet chelseas

Whereas some magic makes the epaulets look good in fits, the folk ones just end up looking a bit grim. Slightly different, but Astorflex have a boot in a stone(ish) suede this season which is a nice midway between Chelsea and the Epaulet shape. Contrasting elastic panels might kill them for you though.

going deeper into the Tyrol Alptraum

the orginal Haferl brand, Richard boots? They are on the one hand ugly, on the other quite special, on the third obscure classics. Remember having the same feeling about paraboot 7 years ago..
