Have two thick Filippa K knits, both 100% wool and they have held up very well for the 2-3 years I've had them (8/10 I'd say and I live in Sweden, so it's not that they haven't gotten used)

have you handled/tried this on in person? it looks great in pics, but i wasn't thrilled with the fabric on it, or with the cut.

i have one of these on its way to me now. :) hope it's not too small.

parka or coat? coat is (infinitely) more awesome but parka would see more wear (because ain't nobody got no time to be cold in ny and i'm lazy as fuck) and is acceptable in awesomeness level. also there is no issue of my shortness with the parka either....

pics withheld to stave away potential competitors :foo:

basically, should i value REAL utility or REAL dopeness? i know the real answer is the latter, but i'm a poor poor man :(

I have not, but it's for a reasonable price ($300) which got me interested. Does it have the same fit as the farmer's jacket? Just not sure what to make of it

As someone who has both a Needles Rebuild and some regular milsurp gear there is no comparison, the cut and patterning take the Needles into an entirely different realm and level of awesomeness. Its actually a kind of blazer (a really fucked up one) not a field jacket remember. And you already have all the EG pants etc. to go with it. Do it!

Of course I'm the biggest Needles stan on the forum, so...

i think it's the same fit as the farmer's jacket. i dunno, i was comparing it to the cut of my cdg jackets, which i prefer. the material on the luc looks like it will be a cool knit, but it's actually wool that's been...bonded?...onto a base. i found the material + cut to give it an awkward, kind of stiff fit.

but $300 is a really good price. and you may find that it fits you better than it did me. i'll be interested to hear how it works out if you buy it.

did you ever actually post pics? what was it?

on that note...maybe i should just hunt for a farmer's jacket in the aw11 material instead...
