When you were asking for people's input in this thread, you weren't sure. You didn't know. Some people posting in this thread aren't sure of their own judgement. It's asking for help. You – yourself – have come to a point where you no longer needed help, and that's fantastic.

But to act above the influence of seeking others' opinions is – without willfully misinterpreting anything – a common trope of Western masculinity that I don't think helps anyone. To deride or cast aspersions on others who are asking for help is just a wrong-headed way of going about things.

People are insecure and knowing that someone else thinks you won't look like a moron wearing something, or knowing that what you're purchasing is as well-made as you hope it is, can help assuage that. There's nothing wrong with admitting you don't know and seeking the advice of strangers – even if you cannot provide them all of the context you feel they'd need to do "legitimize" their request.

I like this thread because you can discuss the items coolness in isolation, the items quality, whether it fits in with the poster's style and other similar potential options which imo is all fruitful although yeah it's always other people's opinions and guesswork based on what they know about you and such.

Over 50% off. My size. No experience with OAMC (is this the brand/collection that Chris Gibbs (Uninon LA) helped design?) but it's a nylon ripstop "overshirt" that I'm thinking might be pretty good for rainy spring/fall days, something which I am currently totally unequipped for.

ExAngel, that look is obviously "played out", but I think it depends how you´d wear it.

I like those too. Non-sneaker mmms run a size larger than the sneaks, no?

I'm the same size in both MMM GATs and side zips, FWIW. Both run TTS for me, and I tried on different sizes to be sure.

Yes, you should be a 41

I do 45 on the Sidezips and GATS. 44 on everything else

I need to buy 2 new pairs of jeans for my collection:)

My boyfriend has offered to treat me to one of them...

I've found 3 pairs online that look small enough for me:

Do I get all 3, as I'll only be paying for 2 myself, or is it more reasonable to choose 2 out of the 3?

I love my jeans collection but it's very hard to choose online, and after this I won't be jeans shopping for a very long time, if ever!

I'm so tempted to have all 3.....:)

Of course you will look all Strange Brew … Just get it if there is still one left in your size. We all absolutely love it [IMG]

Thanks, guys. I did see one for sale this morning, but that's like ten years in EG time, so who knows. It's probably gone. My only concern (other than the price) was that I have no experience with the Baker jacket or vanishing floral-esque prints, but with this kind of vouching, I may veto my two-week rule.

I remember an all-batik eluther fit pic, which in memory looked pretty cool, but I couldn't dig it up.

*For further eluther goodness, consult the reading thread!
