I know this has been discussed a lot but: anyone have experience shortening the sleeves from the shoulder on a blazer? I got a margiela blazer with an absolutely killer cut and fabric but the sleeves are a good 2 inches too long. Functional cuffs.

There's people that know more than I do but generally shortening anything from the shoulder is a big and complicated job and you should only bring it to a tailor that you trust. In your case, I don't think it's even possible since 2 inches is a lot and once you cut off 2 inches from the top the openings don't match anymore.

And even if you do find a tailor who thinks they can do it be prepared to pay a ton of money.

A little too much "goodfellas" vibe for my taste.

Hm. They're nearly hitting my knuckles :/. Regis or whoever - is there any way on sight to tell which of the MMM blazers are cut for 6 foot 4" dudes and which aren't?

I absolutely love this blazer though, the cut and fabric is perfect. I was also considering that thing where they kinda cut around the buttons to move the whole thing up a couple inches.

Edit: also considering this, can't decide if it looks like crap:

One last thing - the final buttonhole isn't cut, so I think it can just be removed, reducing the amount I'd need to move the sleeve up somewhat.

KJ, if they're that long, can you just shorten normally and give up the functional cuffs?

No, they're not that bad. If i did that the cut would be right at the first buttonhole. Here's a pic I snapped this morning before I left:

[I think] It fits, it's just cut with a deep V-shape like that. The longer sleeves are also making it look bigger than it is. The only thing I would be a little concerned with is the length, but I think it's ok (not that you can tell from that pic). Here's a runway pic:
